March 24 Butchart Gardens

It was a pity we couldn’t stay longer at Lake Crescent, but we had to catch the ferry in Port Angeles for Victoria. Our destination was Butchart Gardens, an abandoned cement quarry, that is one of the prettiest gardens anywhere. Again the rhododendrons were showing off, so the gardens was spectacular. After high tea we beat a hasty retreat to catch the 3 PM ferry to Vancouver. We closed out the day at a modest Portuguese restaurant.
