Iquitos (map), the jumping off point for the trip to the camps on the Amazon (see the note below), is the largest city in the world that is inaccessible by roads. You either take the boat (slow) or fly. The time there was short and the biggest impression was that of the swarm of mototaxis that buzzed around us. From there we cruised up the river to the first camp.
