The Serengeti and surrounding country has little to offer in lush landscapes. It may be due as much to the wildlife’s need for food as the climatic and geographic conditions that create a nearly barren landscape. Yet there are many places where the land is interrupted by piles of rock, impressive mountains, and volcanic craters in East Africa that provide spectacular sights.
