Isla Santa Catalina

Our first hike was on Isla Santa Catalina where the cardon cactus, the tallest cactus in the world, flourishes. The island also supports the giant barrel cactus and a rattleless rattlesnake, which are endemic there. This first hike was an excellent introduction to the flora of South Baja California.
