On the Sea of Cortez

The Sea of Cortez has been called Mexico’s Galapagos. Since we have been to both places the comparison is useful, but somewhat misleading. Both are collections of islands close to the equator that are homes to a variety of wildlife and plants. For us, the Sea of Cortez certainly had a more spectacular sea life. However, the variety of animal life and landscapes was far greater in the Galapagos.

Below are some of our favorite pictures from our expedition on the National Geographic Sea Bird in the Sea of Cortez. On the pages (listed at the top of this page) are pictures of the locations we visited and sites that we enjoyed.
